While many Nigerians, Africans and Asians alike, and others from terribly mismanaged countries around the globe, would do anything to go to the USA, and remain there by all means (legal and illegal), the U.S. President, Donald Trump, personally called FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, to request a review of the red card suspension issued to U.S. national team striker, Folarin Balogun.
Balogun, who was born to Nigerian parents, had received a controversial red card during the round of 32 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. He’s almost indispensable to the US team.
Following Trump’s phone call, and the administration’s push for a review, FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee suspended Balogun’s one-match ban.
The decision sparked massive international outrage. European football’s governing body, UEFA, publicly criticized the move as “unjustifiable!” But, when POWER speaks, all ‘bodies’ must bow, or be bruised.
