As the rainy season intensifies across Lagos, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has reinforced its commitment to the welfare and operational readiness of security personnel with the presentation of raincoats to officers of Nigerian Army 9 Brigade Ikeja, Lagos.
The presentation done by the Executive Secretary/CEO of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan took place at the Brigade’s parade ground, with the Commander, 9 Brigade, Brigadier General Ayokunle Owolabi; the Chief of Staff to the Commander, Colonel C. B. Anaukwu; and Major Samuel Osaremen Omijie, alongside other senior officers of the Brigade in attendance. The troops turned out in formation wearing the recently donated bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets previously provided by the Trust Fund.
The symbolic parade highlighted the Lagos State Government’s sustained investment in the protection and operational effectiveness of frontline security personnel.

The LSSTF CEO, Ogunsan indicated that “the raincoats were to complement the earlier donation of ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests. With this, we continue to demonstrate our resolve to ensure that officers remain adequately equipped to carry out their constitutional responsibilities regardless of weather conditions.”
In response, the Commander, 9 Brigade, Brig. Gen. Ayokunle Owolabi expressed gratitude to the LSSTF CEO for his special visit and for the continued support of the LSSTF to the Army over the years. He also presented a souvenir to show his appreciation.

The raincoats donation is part of LSSTF’s broader strategy to strengthen the capacity of security agencies through the provision of critical operational equipment, welfare support and logistics. It also underscores the enduring partnership between the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Armed Forces in sustaining peace, security and public confidence across the state.
