The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has continued its sustained support for frontline public safety agencies with the donation of 300 raincoats to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), reinforcing the operational readiness and welfare of traffic management personnel during the rainy season.
The presentation, made on behalf of the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, by Ms. Adaobi Nwankwo, Executive Assistant, LSSTF, underscores the Fund’s commitment to providing essential operational resources that enable security and traffic management agencies to deliver efficient services under all weather conditions.
The intervention forms part of the LSSTF’s broader strategy of complementing the Lagos State Government’s efforts to strengthen public safety, improve mobility and enhance emergency response across the state.
Receiving the raincoats on behalf of LASTMA was the Zonal Head, Alausa, Ms. Ayilaran Olubunmi Mercy, who expressed appreciation for the timely intervention. Also present at the presentation were Mr. Ibitoye A. Bola, Traffic Officer, LASTMA.
The donation is expected to enhance the ability of LASTMA officers to effectively regulate traffic, respond promptly to incidents and maintain a visible presence on Lagos roads despite adverse weather conditions. It also reflects the Lagos State Government’s recognition of the critical role traffic management personnel play in ensuring the smooth movement of people and goods within Africa’s largest megacity.
Under the leadership of Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, the LSSTF has sustained strategic investments in operational vehicles, protective equipment, technology and capacity development for security and public safety agencies.
