The Lagos State Security Trust Fund Campaign Against Crimes, Cultism and Other Vices (LSSTF-CACCOV) have declared its readiness to deepen grassroots-driven security interventions across Lagos, following their participation in the recently concluded two-day statewide multi-agency training programme organised by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF). The training, which brought together operatives from diverse security and law enforcement agencies, is widely regarded as a strategic effort to strengthen professionalism, ethical standards, and inter-agency collaboration.

For LSSTF-CACCOV, the training serves as a critical capacity-building platform to sharpen their preventive engagement approach particularly among youths who remain central to community safety and stability. This becomes even more important as their participation is expected to be followed by a flagship security awareness and orientation campaign targeting thousands of students at Yaba College of Technology in May 2026, followed by a specialised campaign on cybersecurity and digital safety.

The LSSTF-CACCOV preventive framework has received strong backing from the Executive Secretary/CEO of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who has consistently stressed the importance of nipping crimes and criminality in the bud by effective prevention strategies. Hence, he underscores the need for handlers of the LSSTF-CACCOV initiative to exhibit professionalism and moral clarity in peer associations, warning that credibility begins with personal choices and conduct.

The LSSTF-CACCOV initiative represents a preventive, community-based strategy designed to address the root causes of insecurity by engaging young people constructively and steering them away from crime, cultism, and other social vices. It is expected to reshape community narratives, promote lawful conduct, discourage social vices, and reinforce a culture of responsibility among Lagos youths.

With Lagos positioned as Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre and West Africa’s economic hub, there is a direct link between youth behaviour, community stability, and economic productivity.
