As Lagos State Governor, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, celebrates his 61st birthday, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, has paid glowing tribute to the Governor’s transformational leadership, describing him as “the number one champion of safety and security in Lagos State” whose bold vision, strategic investments and unwavering commitment to public service have significantly elevated the standard of governance in Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre, Lagos.

Ogunsan said Sanwo-Olu’s seven years in office have been defined by “purposeful leadership, impactful governance and measurable progress,” pointing to landmark achievements in security, transportation, infrastructure renewal, youth empowerment, economic development and institutional reforms that have strengthened Lagos’ position as the economic heartbeat of Nigeria and one of Africa’s most important investment destinations.

According to the LSSTF chief, the Governor’s 61st birthday presents not only a moment for celebration but also an opportunity to reflect on a leadership legacy that is visibly transforming lives across the state. “From safer communities and stronger security architecture to world-class transportation systems, improved road networks, urban regeneration projects and increased investor confidence, Governor Sanwo-Olu has demonstrated what visionary leadership can achieve when it is driven by service, innovation and genuine concern for the people,” Ogunsan stated.

In his goodwill message commemorating the Governor’s birthday, Ogunsan praised Sanwo-Olu’s “visionary leadership, courage and unwavering commitment to public service,” noting that the Governor has consistently demonstrated a clear understanding of the strategic importance of security to economic growth and social stability.

According to him, one of the defining hallmarks of the Sanwo-Olu administration has been its unprecedented investment in security infrastructure and technology. “Governor Sanwo-Olu understands that no society can truly prosper without security. His administration has made safety and security a top priority, and the results are visible across Lagos today,” Ogunsan stated.

He noted that through sustained investments in operational vehicles, surveillance equipment, intelligence gathering systems, communication gadgets, aerial patrol assets, drone technology, and other emerging technologies, Lagos has continued to strengthen its position as one of Nigeria’s safest and most investment-friendly states. The recent deployment of drone surveillance technology across strategic locations in Lagos, according to him, further demonstrates the Governor’s commitment to proactive security management. “Under Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership, Lagos is embracing technology-driven security solutions. We now have a security architecture that is increasingly intelligence-led, proactive and future-focused,” he said.

Beyond security, Ogunsan highlighted the Governor’s remarkable achievements in transportation and infrastructure development, particularly the successful delivery of the Lagos Blue Rail Line and Red Rail Line projects. “The Blue and Red Rail Lines are more than transportation projects; they are symbols of visionary leadership and long-term planning. They are changing how people move, work and live in Lagos,” he said.

He further commended the administration’s extensive road construction and rehabilitation programmes, describing them as “critical investments that continue to improve connectivity, reduce travel time and stimulate economic activities across communities.”

On youth development, Ogunsan praised the Governor’s commitment to creating opportunities for young people through empowerment initiatives, entrepreneurship support programmes and strategic engagement platforms. “Governor Sanwo-Olu has consistently demonstrated faith in the potential of our youths. His administration has invested in programmes that are opening doors of opportunity and preparing the next generation of leaders and innovators,” he noted.

The LSSTF CEO also applauded the Governor’s efforts in promoting investor confidence and strengthening Lagos’ reputation as Africa’s leading business destination. “Despite global economic uncertainties, Lagos continues to attract investments because of the stable, business-friendly and forward-looking environment that this administration has worked hard to create,” he said.

Describing the Governor’s leadership style as “inclusive, responsive and transformational,” Ogunsan stated that Sanwo-Olu has remained focused on delivering practical solutions to the challenges confronting residents. “As he turns 61, we celebrate not just a birthday, but a remarkable record of service, impact and transformational governance. Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has shown what purposeful leadership can achieve when driven by vision, compassion and commitment to the people.”

Ogunsan concluded by wishing the Governor continued strength, wisdom and good health. “On behalf of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund and all stakeholders committed to the continued growth and security of Lagos, I congratulate His Excellency on his 61st birthday. We pray that God grants him greater wisdom, renewed strength and many more years of impactful service to Lagos State and Nigeria.”
