The Permanent Secretary and Director-General/CEO of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, has paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, at the LSSTF HQ, Ikeja.

The visit was aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration between LASEMA and the Lagos State Security Trust Fund LSSTF in advancing emergency preparedness, response capacity, and overall public safety across the state.

During the visit, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu commended the LSSTF for its sustained support to all the safety and security agencies in Lagos State, noting that the Fund’s interventions have significantly enhanced operational efficiency and emergency response capabilities. He emphasized the importance of synergy among state agencies in addressing emergencies, disasters, and security challenges in a rapidly growing megacity like Lagos.

In his response, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan welcomed the LASEMA team and reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund to supporting initiatives that strengthen safety, resilience, and emergency management in the state. He described LASEMA as a critical partner in the state’s safety architecture and stressed the need for continuous collaboration, innovation, and capacity building.

Both chief executives expressed optimism that the engagement would further deepen cooperation between their agencies, ultimately improving emergency response outcomes and safeguarding lives and property in Lagos State.

LASEMA is the statutory agency of the Lagos State Government responsible for the coordination and management of disaster and emergency situations across the state.

Its mandate includes disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, search and rescue operations, prompt response to natural and man-made disasters, recovery and relief coordination, as well as public sensitization on safety and emergency management.

Through its 24-hour emergency response system and multi-agency coordination framework, LASEMA plays a central role in safeguarding lives, property, and critical infrastructure in Lagos State.
