Professionally done or not, our children made it happen…with fun and for funds
Here is the backstory!
I got to the Church yesterday and was promptly informed by my leader that we have to get our children to perform some car wash tasks in order to raise funds for an upcoming camping program. I was aware that we needed funds and our children have executed fantastic fundraising initiatives in the past but this one, we haven’t done this particular style before.
I announced to them, we are going to have a short Word session today because we will be stepping out soon to have fun as we wash cars to raise funds. I then asked how many would like to be part of this. Swiftly, 18 children raised their hands including some very young ones, not tall enough for the task, who pledged their support. Theirs was a spectacular case of the spirit is willing but the body nko, mba
To my amazement, however, God ensured that the number 18 was complete. How did that occur? By the time we were ready to execute the task, more children had arrived and when I posed the initial question, the same 18, 18 teens and preteens tall enough to do the task joined the prayer circle in preparation for the task as a confirmation of the earlier number. That can only be Divine! Hallelujah!
These 18 willingly and joyfully gave their service to the Lord. In confirmation of our short exhortation centered around maintaining the GRACE CYCLE, the congregation were so impressed and they kept the GRACE CYCLE unbroken with their funds.
What do you make of this story?
I will replicate the 3 simple truths we learned during our short exhortation.
1. We are fulfilled and happy when we give
2. We create space for more to flow in when we give
3. Don’t be a grace keeper, be a grace giver.
Like a rubber band, GRACE can be maintained as a CYCLE, never ending unless it is deliberately cut. Keep the GRACE CYCLE unbroken this week!
