The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG in charge of Zone 2 (Lagos and Ogun), AIG Olatoye Durosinmi today paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. TheMediaGood Newspaper can authoritatively report that this is the AIG’s first visit to the Governor since February 6th, 2024 when he took the reins Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Zone 2 Command headquarters, Onikan, Lagos.
Present at the official meeting in Lagos House, Marina, Lagos were the Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, among others.
It is noteworthy that AIG Olatoye Durosinmi of Zone 2 has hit the ground running in barely 1 month of getting to office. High profile arrests such as the fake currency printing gang and so on have been made by the Zone who noted on assumption of office that he knows the two states very well.
In the brief visit, the LSSTF board member who is also Chairman of Executive Group, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan noted with excitement the giant approach of the new AIG. He hailed Durosinmi for acting with immediate effect to policing in Lagos and Ogun states.
Born August 19, 1964, AIG Olatoye A. Durosinmi, LLB, BL, LLM hails from Ayetoro in the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology/Anthropology from the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, LLB (Hons) from Delta State University, Abraka, BL from Nigerian Law School, Abuja, LLM from Lagos State University, Ojo Lagos, and a PhD – in view Imo State University.
AIG Olatoye A. Durosinmi was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Course 16 in the year 1990. He has served in various capacities across the country, such as the DPO Lion Building Division, DPO Ebute-Ero Division, pioneer DPO Layeni Division, DPO Isheri Division, the pioneer DCP State CID Kebbi State, pioneer DCP FSWAT, Lagos, Delta, and Kwara State, to mention but a few.
AIG Olatoye Durosinmi is a vastly experienced police officer who has attended several courses both at home and abroad, and his posting is aimed at achieving the IGP’s vision statement for “emplacing a modern police force that is professional, secure, and rule of law compliant” from his wealth of experience.
