Commencing from 1st of November 2024, the Federal Government of Nigeria will prioritize the domestic supply of locally produced Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) otherwise known as cooking gas in lieu of its export.
TheMediaGood Newspaper gathered that this directive will ease the burden of rising costs of cooking gas on Nigerians.
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo stated: ‘To stabilise prices, producers will stop exporting LPG from November 1, 2024, or import equivalent volumes at prices reflecting market realities.’
The decision of the Minister, Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo was announced by his spokesperson, Louis Ibah following a high-level meeting in Abuja between government officials and stakeholders in the LPG value chain in Abuja.
