Mobility is the bridge between security strategy and security response, the ability of security operatives to move swiftly, patrol vulnerable locations and respond to emerging threats can make the difference between containing a threat and allowing it to escalate. This makes sustained investment in operational assets not merely desirable, but indispensable to public safety.

It is against this backdrop that Dongfeng Motors of China has strengthened its partnership with the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) with the donation of five additional pickup vehicles, reinforcing the growing international support for Lagos’ security architecture. The car manufacturer promised to make up their donations to 10 before the end of the Year 2026.

The vehicles were delivered by the Commercial Manager of Dongfeng Motors in China, Mrs. Tina and received by the Executive Secretary/CEO of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who will facilitate their delivery to Lagos upon his return next week. The latest donation builds on an earlier vehicle donated by Dongfeng, bringing the company’s commitment to the LSSTF to six vehicles so far. The automobile company has also pledged to increase its contribution to 10 vehicles before the end of 2026, underscoring its growing partnership with the Fund.

The LSSTF CEO, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan hailed the car manufacturer, Dongfeng Motors for their consistent donation to enhancing safety and security in Lagos. He assured that he will be a chief promoter of their business interests in Lagos.

The intervention is expected to strengthen the mobility of security personnel and enhance operational response across the state, particularly as the LSSTF continues to support multiple security agencies through logistics, equipment and capacity-building initiatives.

The development also highlights the Fund’s expanding international engagement under Ogunsan, as it seeks to mobilise strategic partnerships and resources beyond Nigeria to address the operational needs of Lagos’ security agencies.

For the LSSTF, the Dongfeng commitment represents more than a fleet of vehicles; it is another demonstration that sustainable security requires a collective investment in the institutions entrusted with protecting lives, property and the economic heartbeat of Lagos.
