The National Coordinator of Police Campaign Against Cultism and other Vices (POCACOV), CSP Bisi Okuwobi has revealed the reason for the suitability of Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF board member, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan for the new role of Chairman of POCACOV in Lagos State. TheMediaGood Newspaper reports that she gave this note during her goodwill message at the second Anniversary of AKEM Foundation which held last weekend 27th April 2024 in Lagos.
Speaking on the modus operandi of POCACOV, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi said: ‘We are not for the saints but for the bad in the society. We are not going to arrest them. It is like Pastor’s work, we will advocate to them.’
‘We know some joined because of popular musicians, we are out to tell them that people don’t get to fame like that. This is a gospel of love, it is not for arrest. There would be disarmament of cultists and for those that need to rehabilitated and be reintegrated into society, we will do it. For those who are brilliant, we will facilitate scholarship for them. But for those who don’t listen, they will find their place in police net or in prison.’
On Dr. Ayo Ogunsan’s role in Lagos, ‘It is a careful decision made by the agency because there was thorough profiling. Dr. Ayo Ogunsan came as clean as it could be’, the POCACOV national coordinator said.
Responding during the same event, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan remarked: ‘I have been a preacher of righteousness. It is my commission since I gave my life to Christ. So whether you appoint me or not, it is part of my package as a Christian. In this role, I want to preach love to the cultists.’
The Chairman of Executive Group added: ‘I assure you that by the time for AKEM 3.0, you will hear testimonies of cultists who have converted. Our own is raiding of love. We will give them food, shelter, etc. Police will do the police work but I am called to do the policing of love.’
