YOU CAN’T AFFORD TO SLIP UP!

I often listen to news and current affairs on radio programs as I get ready for work, daily. There are certain stations I used to listen to that I don’t tune to any more. Why?! You would be enjoying their program and they would just go off air, or their mics would suddenly tune down, or another frequency would jam theirs, and that could persist for the next 30 minutes to an hour. I know some of those challenges may be due to power outages, and other peculiar problems we needlessly contend with in Nigeria, but, who has the time and patience to wait it out with such stations?! I simply change channels, and listen to the ones still transmitting loud and clear. And, I got hooked to the new channels.

That’s just the sad reality of life – nobody has to wait on you, except they’re committedly related to you or they’re being paid to do so. Get your acts together! You just can’t afford to slip up, there are several alternatives to whatever you’re offering. Be consistently organized, effective and efficient! This is one generation that is ever in a hurry, wanting what they want like yesterday; they don’t even have the time to check time.

PASTOR MATTHEW ASHIMOLOWO

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo narrated how a member of his church in England had come to complain to him that sales were very slow in his boutique business, and asked for prayers. The clergyman prayed with him and spoke words of blessing over his business. However, Ashimolowo decided to surprise the fellow by storming his shop the following day, Monday, to make some purchases. He got there at 9am, but the store was yet to open. He waited till 11am, and when no one showed up, he left. He said, “I really gave it to the brother the next time I saw him. On a street where many other boutiques are lined side by side, no customer will wait for the latecomers when they can simply walk to the one that are open and ready for business.”

Punctuality is the soul of business! Stop being lazy with your work! Stop messing up! You really can’t afford to slip up!

Have a lovely weekend.
