A Former Commissioner for Information in Adamawa state, Ahmad Sajoh has commended the strategic move made by the Nigerian Police Force, Lagos State Command to distribute biscuits and bottle water to protesters in Lagos.
In an AriseTV interview monitored by TheMediaGood Newspaper, the former CP said: ‘Whoever advised the Nigerian police to share biscuits and bottle water to protesters should be lauded. That was a masterstroke. Let’s be honest, if the police had gone there after these people with the jackboot, with the guns, with the tear gas, it would have been a messy situation.’
He praised this approach as a masterstroke, emphasizing the effectiveness of avoiding a confrontational response. He candidly acknowledged that resorting to force could have escalated the situation into a chaotic one.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian Police Force, Lagos Command shared biscuits and bottled water to protesters during a peaceful match protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Ikeja, Lagos on the 27th of February 2024.
