One of the most inspiring examples to emulate in the New Testament is Apostle Paul. In Phiiippians 3:12-14, he said, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which CHRIST JESUS has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the Prize of the upward Call of GOD in CHRIST JESUS.”
You can’t feed your history and destiny at the same time. You’ll have to let go of your past, and FOCUS on the present, to build the future. Like Paul, forget what is behind and concentrate on what is ahead. You can’t go forward quickly if you keep looking back. As Christians, there’s only One thing (Person, actually) we’re encouraged to persistently FOCUS on, and that is JESUS CHRIST.
Hebrews 12:2 says, “looking unto JESUS, the Author and Finisher of our Faith, Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of GOD.”
As you go to church today, and throughout this week, keep your eyes, heart and thoughts, on JESUS CHRIST, and you’ll testify of a remarkable difference at the end of the week.
Do it!
Have a glorious service.
SHALOM.
