The Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan is someone who is grounded in the system and procedure of the Nigeria Police Force virtually for his impactful relationship with the no. 1 agency for internal security in Nigeria. He is well-known within that constituency, in fact, some call him the civilian IGP.
TheMediaGood Newspaper observed that this is why when the Chairman/CEO of Executive Group, Dr. Ogunsan organizes events, he pulls a large number of police officers of various ranks. Many of them also attend because they learn a lot from his unique lifestyle. This was the case when the AKEM Foundation, a charity organization established in honour of the late parents, Engr. Akinola and Mrs. Emiola Ogunsan celebrated its second Anniversary yesterday in Lagos, senior police officers attended and also shared their thoughts on the man and his lifestyle.
The father of the day, Assistant Inspector-General, AIG Community Policing, AIG Mohammed Ari Ali said: ‘there are two people you cannot replace in your life – your father and mother. They are next only but to God alone. We should reflect on what they have been to us. It is their discipline that got us here. I wish the Ogunsans the very best in life and I pray for the repose of the souls of their parents.’
The Life Patron of AKEM Foundation, AIG Lanre Sikiru Bankole (retd) stated that what the foundation stands for is deep. ‘I am a retired police officer but I know that service to humanity is greater than your service to fatherland.’
I am not surprised that Dr. Ayo Ogunsan is one of the driving force of this Foundation. It isn’t possible to solve all the problems of the world, absolutely not, but contributing your support is very important. We should in our own little way join forces with this organization to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged.’
The wife of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Dr. Mrs. Adekemi Fayoade reflected: ‘The Bible says honor your father and your mother. It is not when they are alive alone but even when they depart and the Bible added so that your days may be long. With this foundation, we are keeping the memory of the late father and mother alive. What you are doing for your parents, your children will do it for you.’
The Commissioner of Police in charge of Ports Authority, CP Ishola hinted: ‘A wise man uses people as his base of wealth. Dr. Ayo Ogunsan is an accomplished man. He is a man I relate with awesome respect. He is full of positive vibes and a positive influence on others by inspiring others to good works. He is very reliable. I met him first on official assignment at my desk and I can say, I am very privileged to know him.’
Dr. Ayo is so close to his family. What they did at the birthday last year is not something that you hurriedly do. It is been a long time coming. He is an epistle, you keep reading and reading an epistle. I am taking a message back home to the Isholas home and abroad, not just my nuclear family, what are we going to do for humanity?’
The Commissioner of Police in charge of General Investigation, Alagbon, CP Ronke Okunade remarked: ‘it is good for us to pick one or two things from what we are seeing in Dr. Ayo Ogunsan. He doesn’t look down on anybody. Islam attaches a lot of importance to what this family has done for their parents. This is a great thing. The name ‘Ogunsan’ will not go down the drain.’
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Lagos Command, DCP Fatai Tijani noted that he cherished the humility of Dr. Ayo Ogunsan. ‘I cherish that humility of whether you are junior or senior or born today. I want to copy that. He has a lot of friends and he is doing a lot to humanity. He is a benefactor to many. He is my benefactor as well, I must say it.’
‘His parents are no longer here but he is remembering all the good things that they have done. For us here, some of us still have both parents while some have 1, we don’t need to wait till they die before we can remember their good deeds. Let them know how much you cherish them. I have copied a lot of things here and I am thinking of what I will replicate for my parents.’
On his part, DCP Olugbenga Adeoye said: ‘This is a good way to remember our parents and what they have done in our lives. We have a lot of people that we went to school together but whether by what their parents did or did not do. We have to learn from here today. I have 1 of my parents alive, I am going home to think of what to do for them.’
Commander, MOPOL 2, ACP Jide Agboola noted: ‘Dr. Ayo Ogunsan is more or less a policeman because this is a constituency he knows well. I have known him for 4 years but he looks like I have known him for life. I wonder why he is the way he is. I have attended the events he organizes and what stands out is his selflessness.’
He has touched a lot of humans. He has touched a lot of people in my constituency, the Nigeria Police. You don’t have to have the whole world to touch lives, that is what I pick from here today.’
Commander, MOPOL 20, ACP Bayo Suleiman added: ‘I met Dr. Ayo Ogunsan in 2018 and since then, we have been friends. When they did 1.0, I wasn’t around but I am happy to be here today. I still have my both parents and I am praying for long life for them. I am also thinking of how to do something for them.’
The National Coordinator, POCACOV, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi heaped praises on the integrity of character of Dr. Ayo Ogunsan noting that it greatly influenced the reason for making him the Chairman of POCACOV in Lagos state. She said: ‘It is a careful decision made by the agency because there was thorough profiling. Dr. Ayo Ogunsan came as clean as it could be.’
