The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, has urged residents to remain vigilant and proactive in supporting efforts to keep Lagos safe. He made this note at the 19th Lagos State Security Trust Fund LSSTF Annual Town Hall meeting on Security with the Governor tagged ‘Building Trust, Enhancing Security: A New Era of Security and Partnerships’.
He made the call on Thursday during the annual Lagos State Town Hall Meeting on Security, where government officials, security agencies, and community stakeholders gathered to review progress and chart new pathways for strengthening security across the state.
Dr. Ogunsan noted that while Lagos has recorded significant improvements in crime prevention, intelligence gathering, and rapid response operations, sustaining these gains requires collective responsibility.
He emphasized: ‘in Lagos, we must stay vigilant and proactive ensuring that our responses are grounded in trust, partnership, and continuous improvement while reinforcing the need for stronger preventive structures, better intelligence, and more robust community engagement.’
Ogunsan assured that the LSSTF remains committed to equipping security agencies with modern tools, training, and logistics to enhance operational effectiveness, though ‘it should be well noted that the Fund was never intended to replace federal obligations but rather to ensure that critical interventions can be made quickly, transparently, and effectively’.
Dr. Ogunsan reassured residents that the Fund will not relent in its mandate, while appealing for sustained support from individuals and the private sector to keep Lagos secure, peaceful, and economically vibrant.
