SUPER REWARDS FOR SUPER FALCONS AS PRES. TINUBU SPLASHES OON NATIONAL AWARD, CASH, HOUSES ON PLAYERS

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR today announced a generous reward for Nigeria’s Super Falcons in recognition of their outstanding performance on the international stage, bringing pride and honour to the nation.

This was made known by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, on Monday. TheMediaGood Newspaper can report that each player of the Super Falcons will receive a fully furnished 3-bedroom apartment and a cash reward of $100,000 (approximately ₦150 million).

In addition, all team members will be conferred with the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), one of Nigeria’s prestigious civilian awards.

“President Tinubu stuns Super Falcons with generous gifts, the first time the 10-time winners of the WAFCON were so rewarded by a grateful nation. President Tinubu announced $100,000 each to each Super Falcon, $50k to each technical crew member, a three-bedroom flat in the Renewed Hope Estate, national honours of OON to the team and crew. Aisha Falode says the Super Falcons have never had it so good, until today, when President Tinubu accorded them an unprecedented grand reception.”

The President also extended the reward package to the technical crew, with each member set to receive $50,000 (around ₦75 million) for their contributions to the team’s success.

Recall that the Super Falcons clinched the 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title in a daring comeback last weekend while trailing 2–0 at halftime.

Morocco took the lead in the first half through Ghizlane Chebbak in the 13th minute, followed by Sanaa Mssoudy doubling their lead in the 28th minute.

But Nigeria’s revival began in the 63rd minute, when Esther Okoronkwo calmly converted a penalty after a VAR check awarded the spot-kick.In the 71st minute, Okoronkwo turned provider, delivering a precise pass to Folashade Ijamilusi, who levelled the score.

The drama peaked in the 88th minute, when Jennifer Echegini headed home a well-delivered free kick from Okoronkwo to seal the 3–2 victory.
