The third floor of the Lagos Continental Hotel transformed into a haven of elegance and spiritual warmth over the weekend, Sunday 7th December as the much-anticipated SPAW – Symphony of Praise and Worship – Concert, convened by Dr. Ajoke Olufunmilola Ogunsan popularly known as Dr. Ajokesings, brought together music lovers, worshippers, dignitaries, and creatives for an unforgettable night of praise.Guests were welcomed on a finely curated red carpet designed with a music-themed backdrop perfect for interviews and star moments.
The ambience was further elevated by sweet orchestra led by Leke Abiola and his Wonder Skills band playing soft harmonic pieces as guests checked in. Mocktails, savoury finger foods, a 360-degree dance booth, and an inviting aesthetic setup set the tone for an evening that would grow into a full celebration of faith and artistry. Inside the Grand Ballroom, boasting a capacity of 1,400, paraded beautiful décor glowing with elegance.
The night of undignified praise and worship concert began with an electrifying performance from the exceptional Praise4One musical group. The momentum continued with a showcase of the SPAW Talent Quest, which held in October to discover young talented Gospel artistes. The top 3 winners – Praise Moses, Dharmie Hilz, Isioma Charles took the stage with a stirring rendition of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”. They were followed by the musical group, JTrybe, that led the hall into another powerful session of worship.
The highlight that many eagerly waited for came with the majestic entry and performance of Osuba Re by the Convener herself, Dr. Ajokesings. Her delivery drew thunderous applause and a standing ovation, setting the tone for more stellar performances from gospel sensations such as Eno Michael, Limoblaze, AEO, Omoarugbo ojo, and Pelumi Deborah.
The night closed with the powerful praise sessions like the triumphant trumps of Beejaysaxb, the melodious hymnodic sounds led by Emma Oh My God, and the energy-laden praises of Lillian Nneji.
In her post-event remarks, Dr. Ajoke Ogunsan expressed profound gratitude to God and to all who made the event possible.
“I want to thank God Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth and the Giver of life, for the opportunity to host SPAW Concert with the people of God,” she said. “I want to thank my team for making this event possible.”
She further acknowledged key supporters and dignitaries, including the Lagos State Governor, H.E. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. “I remember when I had this concert in the UK and he called me to confirm how I was doing,” she recalled.
She also appreciated the Adebutu family and AIG of Zone 2 Police Command , AIG Adegoke Fayoade, among many other guests. Her message to the nation was one of hope and encouragement:
“I want to tell Nigerians to rejoice in the Lord whatever the situation is in the country. This season is a season of joy, happiness, and blessings. God answers our prayers and I believe that through our prayers great testimonies will emerge. Nigeria is blessed, we are blessed, Nigeria you are great from the South, East, West, and North. Nigeria is blessed.”
The 2025 SPAW Concert ended as a resounding success, an evening where music, faith, and communal joy blended seamlessly, leaving attendees uplifted and eager for the next edition.
