Vice President Kashim Shettima has led Nigerian Governors on a Sallah homage to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos.
The Vice President, who was earlier in Maiduguri, Borno State, joined the serving Governors in felicitating with President Tinubu on the occasion of the Sallah celebration.
The Vice President also briefed the President on the security situation in Borno State. It would be recalled that following the President’s recent directive, VP Shettima had conducted an on-the-spot assessment in Maiduguri to engage with families and communities affected by the recent tragic incidents.
In his response, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR hinted that France will support Nigeria with military equipment following a lengthy phone call he had with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron yesterday.
Tinubu added that Nigeria is prepared to leverage all its goodwill and existing lines of credit to acquire necessary equipment and training for security forces in the fight against terrorism.
