At the 2025 SPAW Concert in Lagos, gospel minister Pelumi Deborah delivered a stirring message to the girl child, urging young Christian girls to value their identity in Christ and guard their future with intentionality and conviction.

Speaking shortly before ministering on stage, Pelumi described the atmosphere of the concert as “a powerful place to be,” adding that she looked forward to experiencing God personally during her session. She expressed gratitude for the privilege of service, noting that “no one has received anything apart from what he is given,” and acknowledging that God has been her help and strength throughout her ministry journey.

Meeting the convener, Dr. Ajoke Olufunmilola Ogunsan (stage name – Dr. Ajokesings), for the first time, Pelumi praised her warmth and sincerity. “You can see that she genuinely just loves God. She has a warm spirit, and I love that about her,” she said.

But her most profound message was reserved for young girls aspiring to serve God, especially in a generation she described as battling a “lukewarm spirit.”

She lamented the increasing normalization of immorality, urging Christian youths to separate themselves from influences that contradict their faith.

Speaking directly to the girl child, she said: “God is not abstract about you. He is very intentional about you and very much involved in every part of your life. You are the King’s daughter, so He will not handle you with levity.”

She warned young girls to resist societal pressure and the temptation to blend with the crowd: “Because of who you are in Christ, you cannot afford to follow the crowd. You are too precious to God to trade your future for a few minutes’ enjoyment.”

Pelumi encouraged young girls to maintain purity, stay grounded in their relationship with Christ, and pursue ministry without compromising their values.
