The Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation (MDOF) has unveiled a major healthcare intervention aimed at expanding medical access for vulnerable residents across the Greater Kosofe axis of Lagos State. With the partnership of Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), the foundation is sponsoring free health insurance coverage for 2,000 residents, marking one of the largest community-focused health initiatives in the area this year.

According to the former Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the programme will ensure that disadvantaged members of the community are not excluded from quality medical care, in line with Lagos State’s broader push toward universal health coverage.

The beneficiaries will be drawn from the three councils that make up Greater Kosofe, which includes Ikosi–Isheri LCDA, Kosofe LGA, and Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.

‘At the Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation, we believe every resident deserves access to quality healthcare. This intervention is part of our commitment to walking with our people every step of the way,’ Oshinowo said.

The three-day rollout will commence on 16 December at Ikosi–Isheri LCDA Hq, continue on 17 December at the Kosofe LGA HQ, and conclude on 18 December at Ketu Primary Health Centre, Akintan Street, Mascara, within Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.

To qualify, residents must present a valid LASSRA identification card, after which they can register through a designated online portal. The health insurance package will cover essential medical services, ensuring beneficiaries can access treatment without financial strain.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to secure reliable health coverage for themselves and their families.
