The new Executive Secretary/CEO of Lagos State Security Trust Fund LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan is urging Lagosians to troop behind the efforts of the public-private partnership with cash donations, equipment contributions, public advocacy, and partnership, indicating that massive support is required to achieve more. He also released the account details of the Trust Fund to the general public urging that no amount is too small or big to donate.

Ogunsan pledged that under his administration, the security funding agency is set to provide more logistics equipment and training for all the security agencies in Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre. ‘Lagos is a city of ambition, hope, aquatic splendor, and a city of possibilities. We need safety and security’, he said.

Dr. Ayo Ogunsan provided a background into the activities of the Trust Fund. ‘Lagos State Security Trust Fund LSSTF established by law in 2007 is a Public-Private partnership created to give all security agencies operating in Lagos, especially the Rapid Response Squad RRS, the tools they need to protect us. Through the LSSTF, we provide logistics, equipment, and training for all our security agencies so that our agencies can act faster, respond better, and keep us safer.’

‘Already the LSSTF has delivered over 1500 patrol vehicles, body armour, communications gadgets, and empowered response teams in neighborhoods because when the men and women have what they need, our homes, offices, markets, and streets become safer. But there is still more to do, Lagos is growing, crime patterns are shifting and our security agencies sometimes lack adequate logistics, equipment, and training so that gap is where you come in.’

‘Whether you are an individual, private organization, or government, your resources and voices matter. Support LSSTF with what you can – cash donations, equipment contributions, public advocacy, and partnership.’

He thanked the Executive Governor of Lagos State for championing the Agency’s ideals. ‘We say thank you to Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the chief security officer of the state, for supporting and sustaining the LSSTF. Your leadership gives life to the Trust Fund, the Public-Private partnership. It is because of you that more hands are reaching out for safety in Lagos.’

Ogunsan also thanked all the existing donors to the agency, ‘To our donors, individuals, private organizations, and governments, thank you. Your generosity is not in vain. Because of your kind donations and belief in Lagos State, lives are secured.’
