
The Executive Secretary/CEO of Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun stated that the role of the funding agency is to enhance the functionality and capacity of the various security agencies so that they can serve effectively and be able to boost the confidence of the citizenry. He made this note in the second newsletter of Year 2025.
Dr. Balogun stated: ‘For LSSTF, facilitating general security has been our primary goal, and since I assumed leadership of the LSSTF 10 years ago, we have remained steadfast in providing the needed crime-fighting equipment and logistics to boost the operational capacity of our security agencies.’
‘In line with our commitment to strengthening public safety, the Fund donated fully fitted patrol vehicles, accoutrements, tyres and batteries to security and emergency response agencies in Lagos, including – Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency (LNSA), Lagos State Command and Control Center (LSCCC), Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI), Lagos State Environment and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit (TASKFORCE), Lagos State Police Command, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), OP MESA, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
RRS responds swiftly to critical security incidents.
LASEMA responds to disasters and emergencies.
LAGESC and TASKFORCE ensure urban order and environmental compliance.
LNSA serves as the first line of community surveillance and intelligence.
LSCCC is the central hub coordinating emergency security response in Lagos.
LETI plays a foundational role in ensuring that security operatives in Lagos are properly trained.
FRSC enforces traffic laws, and plays a vital role in reducing accidents on Lagos Roads.
LASTMA is responsible for managing traffic flow, and ensuring road discipline across Lagos.’
