The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, today Friday received the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, during the police chief’s working visit to Lagos.
Dr. Ogunsan met the IGP at the Nigeria Police Airwing hangar in Lagos, where both leaders held discussions on strengthening security collaboration and enhancing policing capacity in the state.
Speaking during the engagement, the LSSTF boss, Ayo Ogunsan commended the IGP for what he described as a renewed sense of energy and strategic direction in the administration of the Nigeria Police Force since his appointment. He particularly praised the swift steps taken by the Police leadership toward advancing the long-discussed initiative of state policing, which is a frontburner issue pursued by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ogunsan noted that one of the IGP’s earliest actions following his formal inauguration was the constitution of an eight-member committee to work on the framework for the establishment of state police, an initiative widely regarded as critical to addressing Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
He expressed confidence that the reform-driven approach of the current Police leadership would further strengthen internal security and deepen collaboration between federal security agencies and state-backed institutions such as the LSSTF.

In his remarks, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing safety and security across the country. He thanked the government and people of Lagos State for their continued support to the Police, noting that Lagos remains a critical hub in the nation’s security architecture.
The Police chief assured that under his leadership, the Nigeria Police Force would intensify efforts to improve operational effectiveness, strengthen community policing, and ensure the safety of lives and property nationwide.
