
Former Executive Secretary/ CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, has been widely commended for his enduring contributions to security funding and institutional development in Lagos. This is as he marks his birthday today Monday 23rd March 2026.
Leading the birthday tributes, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Fund, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, described Balogun as a visionary leader whose tenure significantly strengthened the operational framework of the agency and deepened public-private collaboration in security financing.
Ogunsan, in his remarks, noted that Balogun’s stewardship of the Trust Fund was defined by discipline, foresight and a strong commitment to accountability. These qualities, he highlighted, ‘positioned the organisation as a critical pillar in Lagos State’s security architecture.’
He also hailed Balogun’s personal qualities, describing him as a principled administrator and a leader whose impact extends beyond his years in office.
Ogunsan further highlighted that under Balogun’s leadership, the Fund expanded its reach and impact, supporting security agencies with vital resources and fostering stakeholder confidence in the sustainability of the initiative.
‘Dr. Balogun’s legacy remains evident in the systems and structures that continue to drive our work today, his tenure entrenched innovative security funding mechanisms,’ Ogunsan said, adding that his predecessor’s dedication to service has set a standard for excellence within the organisation.
He added: ‘During my predecessor’s tenure, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund became the cynosure of eyes and consolidated its role as a model for similar interventions across Nigeria.’
