For his first term, the Governor or Lagos state, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu piloted the affairs of Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre on six pivotal agenda aptly termed THEMES Agenda. Upon getting his term for the second four years, Gov. Sanwo-Olu added the ‘plus’ sign which many Lagosians are not aware of its significance.

The Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Mrs. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin shed light on the essence of the ‘plus’ sign in the pivotal THEMES Agenda at the ELOY Conference and Awards ceremony which held in Lagos on 24th November 2023. She revealed to TheMediaGood Newspaper, ‘In the THEMES+ Agenda, we added plus which means gender equality, youth development, and inclusivity so that everybody is carried along in this chain of development. At every point, our Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is out to make sure the lives of people in Lagos are better by the day. That is why we are investing in SME, women, children, and youths.’

‘Lagos State Government is far ahead of other states in terms of SME growth and support. At a SME workshop that I declared open yesterday, I was particularly touched by primary school children who were there to showcase their skills’, Mrs. Salu-Hundeyin added.

Some of the deserving women celebrated at the ELOY Awards event, TheMediaGood Newspaper can report, include Omobolaji Mogaji who won the ELOY Award for innovative beauty entrepreneur; Omo Oba Aderonke Adepoju who won the ELOY Award for content creator; DJ Cuppy who won the ELOY Award for best female DJ; Morenike Molehin who won the ELOY Award for entrepreneur, Olamide Alao Akala who won the ELOY Award for Agriculture, Tokunbo Chinedu who won the ELOY Award for Women who inspires among others.

The Founder of the ELOY Awards Foundation, Dr. Tewa Onasanya who spoke on the ELOY Conference and Awards 2023 themed Sustaining Women Empowerment through Technology and Innovation commented: ‘Women need to be celebrated, women need to be applauded, women need to be showcased so that other women can emulate them. This year is a year of resilience, it’s been 15 years and incidentally this is the venue we used in 2009, here we are again. Eloy has become the biggest and most consistent award ceremony for women.’

‘The strength for this consistency is drawn from the fact that people light up when you celebrate them and they want to do more when they know that they are being seen. We hold conferences and seminars to inspire people and to provide access to women empowerment, mentoring, entrepreneurial training, and access to affordable loans so that they can thrive in their businesses and pursue their dreams. I will encourage women to come out and showcase yourself for the world to see’, Onasanya concluded.
