Four states in the Southwest of Nigeria have given their nod for the celebration of the Annual Isese Day festival billed to hold tomorrow, Tuesday 20th August 2024. TheMediaGood Newspaper can also report that the four quartet also declared the day a work-free day for their public workers.
The circular signed by Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro today Monday, 19 August 2024 stated that workers in the state public service have been given work-free day to celebrate the day which is marked as the day of celebration for traditional religions in the country.
In the same vein, the Special Adviser (Media and Strategy) to Ogun State Governor, Hon. Kayode Akinmade informed that Ogun State remains an exemplary federating unit with enviable level of religious cohesion and harmony, even in the face of diversity. Thus, the work-free day will allow traditional worshippers across the State to commemorate their special day.
Also, the Hon. Commissioner for Home Affairs in Osun state, Abdul-Rasheed Kayode Aderibigbe, declared tomorrow, 20th August as a public holiday in honour of the traditional worshippers’ special day.
Earlier, the Governor of Oyo State,, Engr. Seyi Makinde had declared August 20 as an annual public holiday to celebrate Isese day.
