
The Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland LGA, Mayor Jubril Kolawole Emilagba yesterday Friday 19th September continued his commitment to quality education as he distributed one hundred thousand (100,000) free exercise books to pupils of all the public primary schools in the council. The event held at the Council Secretariat had in attendance the LGA executives, APC party faithfuls, schoolteachers, pupils, among others.
In his speech, the exceptional administrator, Mayor Emilagba stated: ‘Today marks another significant milestone in our collective journey towards strengthening education within Lagos Mainland Local Government. We are gathered here for the official distribution of free exercise books across our schools — a gesture that underscores our unwavering commitment to the future of our children.’
‘Education remains the greatest investment any society can make. It is the bedrock of progress and the foundation upon which dreams are built. This is why our administration continues to prioritize education — not only through the provision of essential learning materials such as these exercise books, but also through bold initiatives that promote academic excellence and expand opportunities for our young people.’
‘In line with this vision, we have distributed 500 free GCE forms, opening doors for many of our students to further their studies and pursue their aspirations with confidence. We are also renovating U.N.A. Primary School, Oyingbo, and addressing flooding challenges at Kadara Primary School, ensuring that learning takes place in safe and conducive environments,’ TheMediaGood Newspaper gathered.
Mayor Jubril Kolawole Emilagba added: ‘Furthermore, we are committed to establishing ICT centers in all public primary schools, powered by sustainable solar energy, to equip our pupils with 21st-century digital skills and prepare them for the future. To our teachers, I say a heartfelt thank you for your dedication, resilience, and sacrifice in shaping the minds of our children. To parents, I extend deep appreciation for your encouragement, support, and partnership in this noble task. And to our dear pupils, these books are yours — use them wisely, study diligently, and make us all proud.’
