“IN SERVING EACH OTHER WE BECOME FREE!”

Those words were spoken by King Arthur to Lancelot in the film, ‘First Knight’, and inscribed upon the famed “Round Table”, around which Arthur and his knights congregate. As its name suggests, it has no head, implying that everyone who sits there has equal status, unlike conventional rectangular tables where participants order themselves according to rank. Let our spiritual leaders, politicians, and elites, learn from King Arthur. He was truly NOBLE!

The quote/heading exemplifies both the loyalty and valor of the knights; they pledged their allegiance, both to Arthur, and to each other with the words, “Brother to brother, yours in life and death.”

FIRST KNIGHT – TRAILER

From the film, King Arthur was obviously a GOD-fearing man, often spending time in prayer and encouraging Lancelot to do same. He said to his arch enemy, Maleagant, “GOD makes us strong only for a while so we can HELP each other.” Hmmm, that should HUMBLE everyone of us.

Let me conclude with this piece I got off Remi Adelowo’s FB wall. It says, “For all it’s worth or otherwise, never look down on people. I know folks, who only relate with people based on status or posh outlook. I find that very repulsive. I have a friend (he could be reading this), whose younger brother, a medical doctor, got recruited into the Nigeria Police through the assistance of an illiterate, not-too-decent looking chap, who sells fruits, moving around in a wheel barrow. Fruit seller had simply put a call through to an Assistant Inspector General of Police, who is like a big uncle to him. Long story short, my friend’s brother is today a Superintendent of Police in the Medical Corps. Lowly or high status, show courtesy to people. It costs you absolutely nothing!”

A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE!
Selah!
