
Following the recent promotion of CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh and decoration with the rank of AIG, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu has approved the immediate redeployments of CP Fatai Tijani as the new Commissioner of Police in-charge of Lagos State Command. This makes CP Fatai Tijani the 42nd Commissioner of Police in Lagos State.
CP Fatai Tijani brings a wealth of experience to the new position, having previously served in critical roles such as Deputy Commissioner of Police, DC Operations in Lagos State Command, Area Commander, Area C Command also in Lagos State and as CP Eastern Port Command in Rivers State before his posting as CP Lagos State Police Command.
The former Commander MOPOL 17 Akure in Ondo State, have a background in administration, tactical squad and diplomatic services, combined with operational excellence, positions him to lead the Lagos State Police Command effectively and efficiently.
CP Tijani’s appointment aims to improve on security enhancement, operational efficiency, community engagement improvements, inter-agency synergy, strengthen coordination among police units, and uphold discipline, professionalism in law enforcement across State.
Earlier, IGP Disu charges senior Police officers to lead by example, prioritise the rule of law, maintain a policy of zero tolerance for indiscipline, corruption or dereliction of duty, and implement proactive security measures to ensure the safety of lives and property across their commands.
Meanwhile, AIG Olohundare Jimoh as been posted to assume duty as the Assistant Inspector General of Police, in-charge of Zone 2 Command comprising of Lagos and Ogun States.
