The Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu today delivered a speech at the inaugural Distinguished Lecture at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) on Victoria Island, Lagos.
In his speech, Gov. Sanwo-Olu highlighted the great impact of Lagos stating that what works in Lagos often goes ahead to work across the country Nigeria. He also mentioned that Nigeria’s inherent potential as a world leader remains with the burgeoning youth population, TheMediaGood Newspaper can report.
He indicated: ‘I spoke about Nigeria’s path to global influence and why our greatest strength lies in our young people, with about 100 million under the age of 20.’
‘Lagos is central to this future. As the nation’s economic engine, what succeeds in Lagos often shapes what succeeds in Nigeria. Our vision of a $1 trillion economy by 2030 is ambitious, but it is within reach with focus, reforms, and a shared belief in our potential.’
The lecture, with the theme: “Lagos and Nigeria 2030: Projections of a World Power,” brought together diplomats, policymakers, and scholars to discuss Nigeria’s global prospects.
