FIRST LADY TINUBU DISTRIBUTES FOOD IN EKITI STATE, SAYS PROGRAM TARGETED AT WOMEN, YOUTHS, PWDs

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Shade Tinubu OON today embarked on a massive distribution of assorted food items to alleviate the challenges of women, youths, and persons living with disabilities in Ekiti State. This food distribution is done under the social investment programme of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

The First Lady Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by the wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima hinted that she is working towards improving the lives of the vulnerable groups with the supplies of assorted Food items in Ekiti State. She thanked the good people of Ekiti State for their support for the Pres. Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

Speaking at the event, the wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima stated that the Food Distribution programme is under the Social Investment programme of the Renewed Hope Initiative. It is a monthly intervention strategy targeting the vulnerable groups in the society. The programme supported by a well-meaning Industrialist has provided assorted food items in a number of states across the nation.’

Nana Shettima also informed the public that ‘the Renewed Hope Initiative RHI is in line with the objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration and is working towards meeting the needs of the people. The program was launched in FCT Abuja and has covered some states already impacting on the lives of people with disabilities, women and the youth.’Hajiya Nana Shettima implored the beneficiaries not to divert the items to the market but to use it in their households.

The wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji while appreciating the Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s support to the state in the areas of agriculture where farmers received farming implements, women empowerment and scholarship for the youths said the food intervention is timely. It will go a long way in helping the beneficiaries considering their vulnerable nature.High points of the event were a symbolic presentation of the food items as well as a traditional dance to display the rich cultural heritage of Ekiti State.
