In a strong show of institutional support for security and public safety in Lagos State, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated eight operational vehicles to the Eko Strike Force, a specialised police initiative established to enhance intelligence-led policing and crime prevention across the state.

The donation underscores the continued collaboration between the Lagos State Government and the Nigeria Police Force in safeguarding lives, property, and critical infrastructure in Nigeria’s economic nerve centre.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Executive Secretary/CEO of LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan commended the leadership and performance of the Commissioner of Police who designed the initiative, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, describing his tenure as impactful and commendable.

“On behalf of the Lagos State Governor, the Board and Management of LSSTF, and most especially the donors of these assets, we are delighted to hand these vehicles over to you. We are so proud of all that you have done this period that you came on board. We want to assure you that because of your excellent activities, as you keep knocking on our doors, we will keep giving you all the support you need.”

Ogunsan noted that the donation reflects confidence in the operational efficiency and professionalism of the Eko Strike Force, adding that LSSTF would continue to provide the necessary logistical backing to ensure seamless policing across the state.

“We can’t hold back from a very senior Police officer like you who is keeping Lagos safe and ensure that your work is going seamlessly. We want you to take delivery of these vehicles for the Eko Strike Force. We want you to continue to execute your lofty ideas that will ensure that Lagos is better policed. Please continue to do your best and we are sure that Lagos will continue to appreciate you better.”

Responding on behalf of the Eko Strike Force and the Lagos State Police Command, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh expressed deep appreciation to the LSSTF for its sustained support, while placing the donation within the broader context of ongoing security interventions in the state.

“We are happy that the LSSTF deemed it fit to add to the pool of vehicles that Eko Strike Force has. I look back to February 2025 when the LSSTF gave us 5 vehicles. Today we are receiving 10 more vehicles, 8 from LSSTF and 2 from the IGP, keeping in mind that the Eko Strike Force is like an intermediary that is bridging the gap and complementing the efforts of the RRS.”

CP Jimoh assured stakeholders that the vehicles would be deployed strategically to protect critical assets and high-traffic locations across Lagos. “I want to assure you that we are going to make the best use of these vehicles. If you go to the third mainland bridge, you will see the presence of the RRS, we will make additions to protect the economic nerve centre of the country, that is Lagos.”

He further reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to collaboration with the state government in delivering on its development and security blueprint.

“We appreciate the LSSTF for always supporting the Lagos State Police Command, and for the trust and partnership. We will continue to work in synergy for the furtherance of the THEMES-plus agenda of Mr. Governor to ensure safety and security for all Lagosians and visitors to Lagos State. We are happy and we look forward to further support in other areas. Thank you.”

The donation marks another milestone in Lagos State’s sustained investment in security infrastructure, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most proactive sub-national governments in supporting policing and public safety in Nigeria.
