DR CONGO GETS JUDITH TULUKA AS FIRST-EVER FEMALE PRIME MINISTER

Keeping to his electoral promises, the President of Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Tshisekedi today announced Judith Suminwa Tuluka as the Prime Minister of the country. Tshisekedi won a second term at last December’s election.

Prior to this appointment, TheMediaGood can report that Mrs. Tuluka was the Minister of Planning in the country. This appointment is a landmark decision in Congo, nay Africa has it brings the country closer to gender equality in politics and governance.

The country which is riddled with violence and economic woes is yearning for strong leadership which it earnestly hopes that Tuluka can provide. In her inaugural speech aired on state television today, Prime Minister Tuluka pledged to prioritize peace and development efforts, particularly in the conflict-ridden eastern provinces. She expressed deep concern for the plight of those affected by the ongoing violence and reaffirmed her commitment to finding sustainable solutions to the crisis.
