DO IT WELL, VERY WELL!

Yesterday, I listened to Prof. Gbenga Okunlola (also a pastor) tell the story of how he failed a mathematics course in his Year One at the University of Ilorin. Some 90 percent of the class failed the course too, and the reason was simply because they hardly heard or understood the lecturer, who often seemed troubled and disgruntled. He sat for it again the following year, and still failed, because it was the same lecturer.

Shortly afterwards, a lecturer came from Unilag on Sabbatical to UniIlorin, and was given the ‘problematic’ mathematics course to teach. The entire class found the new lecturer very knowledgeable in the subject, and he made the course so simple and interesting that nearly everyone passed. Okunlola said he got an ‘A’ that year. That new lecturer was Dr. Adejare Enoch Adeboye.

PASTOR ENOCH ADEJARE ADEBOYE,
General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God

According to Okunlola, when Adeboye’s Sabbatical came to an end, and he was to return to Unilag, the students he had taught marched to the VC’s office asking that Adeboye be persuaded to remain at UniIlorin. He said they were further alarmed/devastated when the news came that Adeboye was giving it all up to pastor the Redeemed Christian Church of GOD.

My point here is this: only your work, and the GOODNESS of it, makes you valuable, and preferred, among others. The QUALITY of your work stands you out. Do a GOOD and THOROUGH job, always. It pays to be detailed, dutiful, disciplined and diligent. See where those lofty QUALITIES have taken Pastor Enoch Adeboye. Whatever you do, do it well, very well!
Selah!
