I just listened to the phenomenal story of Darrius Simmons on the Steve Harvey show.
Darrius, now 18 years, was born with three fingers on his right hand and one on his left hand. He was also born without vital bones in his lower legs.
As a toddler, doctors gave him artificial legs. They were uncomfortable to wear at first, but Darrius was determined to walk; he never let any of the challenges get in his way.
As he grew older, he had to work hard to do things that were easy for other children; and anytime someone tried to help, he would say, “I can do it myself.”
He soon learned to use the three fingers on his right hand to hold a fork. He taught himself to write. And soon he was playing basketball, football, and video games with his friends. What a kid!
Perhaps, the most inspiring aspect of Darrius’s story is how he has mastered the piano; he plays like a genius. And, for someone with four fingers, that’s truly phenomenal.
He credits his grandfather and mother for giving him the right ATTITUDE and for inspiring him to live beyond limits. His mom would regularly tell him, “You’re not disabled, you’re just differently able!” Wow! That’s LIGHT!
Today, Darrius is doing the ‘impossible’ because he has the RIGHT ATTITUDE and MINDSET. And, that’s what the RIGHT MINDS FOUNDATION is out to give NIGERIANS – the RIGHT MINDSET/ATTITUDE! Support our Good Works.
