The Chairman of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, Aliko Dangote, has announced that French football star Ousmane Dembélé has accepted an invitation to participate in the Foundation’s upcoming Charity Run for the Children of Africa, a continental initiative aimed at raising funds to support education and healthcare for underprivileged children across Africa.

In a message shared by Dangote, Dembélé expressed deep admiration for the Foundation’s mission, describing it as a cause close to his heart.
Dangote described the footballer’s decision as “a powerful gesture of humanity and brotherhood,” noting that the event is more than just a race—it is a rallying call for collective action to build schools, hospitals, and better futures for African children.
He urged African businesses, athletes, artists, and leaders to join the movement, saying the continent needs empowerment and opportunity, not pity.
The Charity Run for the Children of Africa is expected to bring together prominent figures from across the continent in a show of solidarity and support for Africa’s next generation.
