The Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has launched a robust anti-crime patrol operation along the newly developing Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road corridor, deploying four specialised patrol teams to maintain 24-hour security coverage.
The initiative is aimed at curbing emerging criminal activities, enhancing visibility policing, and ensuring consistent rapid-response capability on the strategic route. The new operation builds on earlier security deployments, including several patrol vehicles stationed along the highway since December 2025.
To further enhance mobility and operational strength, the Commissioner of Police recently received additional patrol vehicles from the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF). The presentation was made by the Fund’s Executive Secretary/CEO, Ayo Ogunsan, during a visit to the Lagos State Police Command HQ in Ikeja. The vehicles marked yet another intervention by the Fund to support the Nigeria Police in maintaining law and order across the state.

Speaking today during the launch of the new patrol initiative, CP Olohundare Jimoh said the deployment of round-the-clock patrol units underscores the Command’s commitment to securing critical infrastructure and safeguarding commuters and residents along the expanding coastal corridor. According to him, the presence of dedicated teams will deter criminal activities and ensure swift response to any security breaches.
The Commissioner was accompanied on the coastal patrol assessment by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), DCP Lawal Adeshina, the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Shola Jejeloye, the Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele, as well as tactical squad commanders and other senior officers. Their presence highlighted the Police’s commitment to the intensified security operations.

CP Jimoh commended the LSSTF for its continuous support, noting that the newly donated operational vehicles have significantly boosted the Command’s capacity to initiate the expanded patrol framework. He added that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road is a rapidly developing economic artery, requiring proactive policing to prevent criminal encroachment and protect ongoing infrastructure work.
With the deployment of the four anti-crime patrol teams and strengthened logistical support from the LSSTF, the Lagos Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment across all emerging corridors of the state.
