It was a celebration of beauty, colours, and most especially love unfettered over the weekend as the son of IGP Kayode Egbetokun, Victor married his heartthrob in Lagos. High-profile personalities within and outside the Nigeria Police gathered to celebrate with them. Top on the list is the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima; Secretary to the Federal Government, Senator George Akume; Gov. Godwin Obaseki; Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State; Gov. Oyebanji of Ekiti State; Gov. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto of Sokoto State; Chief of  Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. The Vice President who also spoke on behalf of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized the importance of values in marriages. ‘Some of the most essential qualities in marriage are communication, patience, tolerance, perseverance, and love’ adding that ‘all the beautiful faces that adorn this hall are a reflection of the beauty of marriage, however, it is not always rosy and smoothsailing. It comes with its own ups and downs’.

Hailing the IGP and his wife, Shettima noted that as parents, ‘when our children come of age, it truly is a painful process letting them go’ but indicated that is the right way to go.He also thanked the IGP for using his role well stating that ‘Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power. This is the beauty of the IGP.’

On his part, the Chairman/CEO of Executive Group, Dr. Ogunsan gave cogent tips to the newlyweds. He reiterated to the new couple that ‘while love is a fundamental for great unions, fellowship with God in study, prayers and worship is key. Let the Lord be glorified in your home.’He also celebrated with the IGP, wife, family, and friends praying that reasons for celebration will abound for everyone.
