Barely two weeks after their inauguration as ambassadors of measles and rubella vaccines by the Lagos State first lady, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Sarki Hausawa Overall and Chairman of the Chieftaincy Council of Arewa Community Alimosho, Lagos, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, has stated that, the task to effectively thin out vaccine hesitancy amongst Arewa Community residents of Lagos was non negotiable.
Expressing readiness and commitment to go all out as mandated by the new status of child health protection ambassador, bestowed on him by the Nigeria governor’s wives forum, Sarki Overall, stated that, he has since hit the ground running, beginning with advocacy and sensitization visits to some Serikis and Arewa Community stakeholders in Alimosho federal constituency and across Lagos at large.
Recall that, Sarki Overall of Alimosho, was in a program held at the Lagos house, Alausa, Ikeja, on September 16, 2025, officially inaugurated as measles and rubella vaccines ambassador; eminent royal signatures including, the Oba of Lagos, HRM Rilwan Akiolu Osuolale, the Oniru of Iru kingdom, HRM Oba Gbolahan Abdulwasiu Lawal and the Onigbogbo of igbobo kingdom, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, were also inaugurated as ambassadors of the vaccines at the same event.
Describing Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-olu, the Lagos State first lady as a relentless champion of child health initiatives, Sarki Overall also praised the Lagos State government under the leadership of his excellency Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu, noting that, similar to other sectors making up the T.H.E.M.E.S plus agenda, the state stands tall and above equals in terms of investments in the general health sector with a premium attention invested in child health initiatives under governor Sanwo-Olu.
