
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, AIG Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, at the Fund’s HQ, Ikeja, Lagos.
The visit underscores the importance of sustained collaboration between the Nigeria Police and the security funding agency in strengthening public safety across Lagos State.
During the meeting, the AIG hailed the LSSTF boss, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan for his towering role in promoting peace and security in Lagos and championing the care of Police officers. AIG Olatunji Disu is the 55th AIG in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex and resumed on 9th February 2026.
Further, at the meeting AIG Tunji Disu affirmed his commitment to deepening intelligence-driven investigations and promoting law and order in the State. He emphasized that effective policing in Lagos requires continuous partnership with the LSSTF and other organizations that support law enforcement.
Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, in his remarks, welcomed the new AIG and expressed the Fund’s readiness to continue providing strategic support for the Nigeria Police and other law enforcement agencies. He noted that he will continue to champion crime-fighting and reduce criminality in the state.

The native of Lagos State is a senior police officer with over three decades of experience in operational, investigative and strategic policing. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Education from Lagos State University, multiple Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Criminology, Security and Legal Psychology, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Investigation.
He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 and has since served in key leadership roles nationwide, including Commander of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos, Head of the Intelligence Response Team, Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, and AIG in charge of the Special Protection Unit. His leadership of the Rapid Response Squad between 2015 and 2021 earned national and regional recognition for urban crime control and operational excellence.
Before assuming the role at FCID Annex, AIG Disu was the AIG in charge of Special Protection Unit (SPU) and has previously distinguished himself in multiple commands, including his tenures as Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory and in Rivers State. He was elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police on 25 March 2025.
