The Africhatta Film Village, the brainchild of thespian, Ibrahim Chatta will enjoy the support of Oyo State Government. This is going by the statement of the Commissioner of Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun when he visited the masterpiece facility devoted to the promotion of arts, culture, tourism, and entertainment.
TheMediaGood Newspaper gathered that the Africhatta Film Village and Resort is located in Oyo State, and sits on about 74 acres of land. It is comprised of thatched houses with drawings portraying the aesthetics of Yoruba culture, as well as a stable for horses and other animals. The facility, which is set in a serene and picturesque location, offers a quiet atmosphere for artistic expression. It is also equipped with modern infrastructure, such as studios and state-of-the-art equipment.
Speaking after inspecting the project, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun expressed optimism that the project will bring more tourists to the state. He stated that the Oyo State government, through the Ministry encourages investors to take advantage of its enabling environment for investors. The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the facilities put up by Actor, Ibrahim Chatta and his team, and announced that the Ministry will visit the site a lot more.
According to him, “The Oyo State government, under Engr. Seyi Makinde attaches importance to tourism, and businesses that will attract tourists to the state, such as this film village by Mr. Ibrahim Chatta.
“We have gone round and obviously a lot of work has been put into this project by the visioner”, he added.
“I have given him the reassurance of the Oyo State government, through our Ministry to support him and encourage businesses like his. So, we look forward to more tourist attractions through projects like his and more”
The two-term Commissioner added that the project is just one of the many attraction sites, encouraged by the enabling environment created by the present administration in the State.
Since it was opened, several filmmakers have used the facilities at the film village. A TV series, Eleran, was shot entirely in the film village, with the production team praising the facilities and support staff for enhancing their production quality. Other films that have been shot there include Oko Iyabo and Ajoje.
Also, prominent figures in the film industry, such as Deyemi Okanlawon, Muyiwa Ademola, Lateef Adedimeji, Iyabo Ojo, Adebimpe Oyebade, Toyin Abraham and Niyi Akinmolayan have made use of the location.
