Pres. Tinubu Swears-in Olatunji Disu as Nigeria’s 23rd IGP

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has officially sworn in Olatunji Disu as the substantive Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

The swearing-in ceremony took place today Wednesday at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Nigeria Police Council on Monday endorsed Disu, after his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It will be recalled that Disu was appointed on February 24 after the resignation of the outgone IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

President Tinubu decorated Disu the following day with the new rank of IGP.

The ceremony was witnessed by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

Others present were the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam; FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike; and Head of Service, Mrs Esther Walson-Jack and other cabinet members.

Immediately after Disu’s swearing-in, President Tinubu also swore in newly appointed Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission and the Federal Civil Service Commission.

The ceremony preceded the commencement of the Federal Executive Council meeting, which began at about 3 pm.

The meeting, which is being presided over by President Tinubu, is still ongoing as at the time of filing this report.

The RMAFC Commissioners swore in were Abubakar Wamakko (Sokoto), Sen. Marafa Abba (Taraba), Ahmed Waziri (Adamawa), Hadizatu Mustapha (Borno), Helen Bob (Bayelsa) and Oladele Gboyega (Osun).
