Former Executive Secretary and CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, has congratulated the newly appointed acting Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, describing his elevation as a fitting reward for professionalism and exemplary service to the nation.
In a statement issued on Friday, Balogun commended the new Police chief’s “longstanding record of discipline, courage, integrity, and distinguished service,” noting that his appointment as acting Head of the Nigeria Police Force was both timely and merited.
Balogun recalled his close working relationship with Disu during his tenure as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos, a period in which the LSSTF was responsible for the squad’s logistics, equipment, and operational support. He described their collaboration as one anchored on a shared commitment to the safety and stability of Lagos State.
He also credited the new ag. IGP Disu for consistently demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities and a commendable openness to constructive engagement with stakeholders.
“Throughout our professional engagement, I observed in him exceptional leadership qualities, strategic insight, and a commendable openness to constructive engagement with civilian stakeholders. He brought innovation to policing operations, embraced accountability, and consistently demonstrated deep concern for the welfare and professional development of his officers. Under his leadership, regular training initiatives, improved operational readiness, and strengthened welfare support were sustained in partnership with the LSSTF.”
Expressing confidence in Disu’s ability to lead the Police Force with distinction, Balogun said the new appointment would further reinforce professionalism in national policing. “I am confident that, in his new capacity, he will uphold the highest standards of professionalism and further strengthen the Nigeria Police Force in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.”
He wished ag. IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu “great wisdom, fortitude, and success” as he assumes his new responsibilities.
