The atmosphere in Lagos on Sunday 22nd February 2026 was charged with gratitude and reverence as the Area 30 Headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in LP 45 was formally inaugurated. The moment marked the culmination of faith, obedience, resilience, and visionary leadership under Pastor Cynthia Gregg who took the saddle of the Area 30 barely 6 months ago. What once stood as a mere shanty has now become a magnificent worship center, boldly reflecting Psalm 118:23: “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.”
In her heartfelt praise at the inauguration, Pastor Dr. Cynthia Gregg recounted the journey of the Area which was founded in December 2021 but now has its permanent structure by December 2025. “It has been an eventful journey. I became an Area Pastor in September 2025. Shortly before then, we got this property. I just felt that there must be something that we can do to worship God in a better place. I spoke with my husband and he agreed. So we rebuilt this place and it has become the RCCG LP 45 Area 30 HQ.”
She recalled the condition of the location before the transformation: “Before now, this place was more like a shanty, even you will be concerned about how people lived in this place then. But God provided the resources and we took it up, we rebuilt and we now have a 300-seater main church, children’s church, teens church, 4 offices, 5 toilets, fully ACed, LCD TVs, where we can watch thanksgiving every first Sunday and also watch Holy Ghost service every first Friday for those who can’t travel all the way.”

Paraphrasing Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee”, Dr. Cynthia Gregg proclaimed upon the new facility: “The light of the Lord has come. God has come to redeem everyone so that they can make heaven.”
She extended her deep gratitude to the people who have supported her over the years: “I am blessed to have spirited individuals around me, anytime I have occasions, they always turn up for me. I am grateful to my provincial pastors, all area pastors, all parish pastors, workers and ministers in LP 45 for making this a success” and emphasized the significance of honoring those who have shaped her journey since joining RCCG in 1998: “Whenever you have people that have been part of your success story and you are narrating the story, it will be unfair without recognizing them. That’s the essence of the awards to the people who have been part of my story since I joined RCCG in 1998. This journey will not be complete without them.”
The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including the spouse of the celebrant Pastor, Hon. Gregg; the Bashorun of Ojora, Chief Yinka Ojora; Baale of the area, Chief Yusuf Ojora, as well as the RCCG LP 45 leaders such as Pst. Godwin Obadan and Pst. Mrs. Olubunmi Obadan, the NCAA regional director, Erelu Oluwabukola Aduragbemi Teriba; the FRSC Lagos Commandant as represented by Mr. Odegba, the NSCDC Lagos Commandant as requested by his PRO, Mr. Seun Abolurin, among others.
The representative of the FRSC Lagos Commandant), Mr. Odegba, spoke on divine protection. “There is no place you will find safety more than the house of God. We have come to remind you that before you go out to meet FRSC on the road, check yourself and be sure that you are grounded in God. Thank you and God bless you.”
The NSCDC Lagos Command PRO, Mr. Seun Abolurin offered congratulations. “We want to appreciate the Lord and say that this is because the Lord has commanded His servant, Dr. Cynthia Gregg to do this. We will like to say congratulations to Area 30 and the LP 45.”
A royal blessing came from the Bashorun of the Ojora Kingdom, Chief Yusuf Ojora representing Oba Abdulfatai Ojora. “I want to say that God has given a great opportunity to this church to be Area 30 and in house number 30. I pray that the mission of the church will be fulfilled. On behalf of Oba Abdulfatai Ojora, I congratulate the pastor and members of this church. God will take the glory here, as you gather here anyone who wants to do evil will be arrested by God.”
From the aviation sector, the NCAA regional director, Erelu Oluwabukola Aduragbemi Teriba, conveyed greetings of the organisation’s leadership, referencing the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and its DG Capt. Chris Najomo. “It is with great honor that I convey the warm greeting and congratulations of the NCAA DG, Capt. Chris Najomo. Today is more than just a building, it is a sacred lighthouse. It is our prayer that the sanctuary will raise men and women of integrity, nurture families grounded in faith and serve as a hub of hope and transformation to all who enter.”
The Provincial Pastor of LP 45, Pastor Godwin Obadan, preached from 1 Kings 8:11-14, drawing parallels between God’s glory filling Solomon’s temple and the divine presence now resting upon Area 30.
He declared: “Today is a joy for the church. This is a church that started from a lockup shop with no worker and minister. This condition could have deterred anybody but not my daughter, Dr. Cynthia Gregg, who took up the challenge like a cross with the support of her husband and continued to press forward. Today the story has changed for glory. Your glory too will change for glory. The world will gather to celebrate with you.”
In every word spoken and every prayer raised, the event testified to God’s faithfulness and the unwavering dedication of Pastor Cynthia Gregg. The new Area 30 edifice now stands not only as a house of worship but also as a monument of transformation, community, and divine purpose.
Like Psalm 26:8 declares:“Lord, I love the habitation of Your house, the place where Your glory dwells.” And on this memorable day in Lagos, His glory surely dwells here now and forever.
