Yesterday, I wrote ‘BLESS THE RIGHTEOUS’, which elicited many positive responses. But, that’s just one side of the coin. The other side is ‘JUDGE THE WICKED AND EVERY ACT OF WICKEDNESS!’ And, where’s that in the Scriptures? Psalms 45:6&7 says, “Your throne, O GOD, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS and HATE WICKEDNESS; Therefore GOD, Your GOD, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”
That’s it!
It’s not enough to love RIGHTEOUSNESS, we must HATE WICKEDNESS and judge it (and the perpetrators) wherever we see/experience it, also! That’s how GODLY SOCIETIES are built. The few Nigerian churches (and very few indeed) that teach RIGHTEOUSNESS at all, hardly talk about hating wickedness and judging it. In fact, they run you down faster than a bulldozer when you champion such fights. Hypocritical bigots! A dearly beloved pastor friend understood it well when he wrote, “My brother, the judgement is coming very fast, but quite a number of the generality of the people, including church members, need to repent and run for safety so that the judgement will not be as in the days of Noah. Too many do not fear God in this generation, and our leaders are just a bigger and more pronounced version of what is happening on the streets, in the establishments, and in our religious centers.”
Gbam!!!!!
If we would put our hearts/minds in the RIGHT Place, and judge the ‘wicked workers’ in Nigeria (like we judged Sani Abacha then), we would soon be rid of devious and corrupt leadership. I say “BLESS THE RIGHTEOUS, and judge the wicked, according to GOD’S WORD.” Until the NIGERIAN CHURCH decides on what to do with our wayward leaders and corrupt systems, they’ll continue to hold us hostage in a land that the LORD has blessed with so much milk and honey. The CHURCH only needs to decide/take a firm decision, and these evil politicians and unproductive ‘malevolent’ civil servants shall be no more. When the NIGERIAN CHURCH is led by pastors and bishops who truly LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS, and HATE WICKEDNESS, and teach it with the same intensity they teach tithes and offering and giving, then, NIGERIA shall be FREE! Until then, just dey play, pretending to be praying!
