For many years, like a lot of Nigerians, I was of the opinion that Prof. Pat Utomi owned the Lagos Business School and Pan-Atlantic University. Yesterday, I learnt that the true owner of LBS and PAU is the Pan-Atlantic University Foundation (PAUF).
The Foundation is a registered non-profit entity whose trustees ensure the university remains faithful to its founding ideals. It was established in 2002 and is known for its strong Christian identity. The Trustees of the Foundation hold legal title to all the property of the University, and Prof Pat Utomi is not even one of the trustees of PAUF.
He is a founding Senior Faculty member of the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, and was the Director of the school’s Centre for Applied Economics. His belief in the ideals of PAUF (and love for the schools it governs) has turned him into a passionate ADVOCATE for the schools, causing many to erroneously make him the owner.

Lagos Business School (LBS) is the graduate business school of Pan-Atlantic University. The institution was established in 1991, with its educational philosophy rooted in the teachings of St. Josemaria Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei. Opus Dei, is Latin for “WORK of GOD.”
It teaches that ordinary life – work, family, and daily routines – is a means to achieve holiness, sanctifying professional, social, and family life through prayer and virtue.
