President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has announced that Nigeria will co-host Investopia with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Lagos this February, as part of a broader strategy to attract global investors and accelerate sustainable investment inflows into the country.

The President made the disclosure on Tuesday at the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), where Nigeria also signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE.

The agreement is designed to deepen bilateral cooperation in key sectors including renewable energy, infrastructure, logistics, digital trade, aviation, agriculture and climate-smart development, the press statement of Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser (Information and Strategy) indicated.

The CEPA was signed in the presence of President Tinubu; UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Nigeria’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; and UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.

President Tinubu described the agreement as historic, noting that it would create long-term economic opportunities for both countries. He said Investopia would convene global investors, innovators, policymakers and business leaders to convert ideas into concrete investments.

At the summit, the President revealed Nigeria’s ambition to mobilise up to $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial finance, while reaffirming the country’s net-zero emissions target by 2060.

He highlighted ongoing energy reforms, improved climate governance, and a 21 per cent growth in non-oil exports as evidence of Nigeria’s economic transformation.
