The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu stated that the Summit was to discuss practical solutions for a more sustainable future. ‘For us in Lagos, climate change is not an abstract discussion; it is a daily reality. It affects our homes, our economy, and our way of life. With over 22 million residents and 187 kilometres of coastline, we understand what is at stake.’
‘We are taking concrete steps by strengthening our coastal defences through the Great Wall of Lagos, improving clean water transport through the Omi Èkó Initiative, and launching Lagos Carbon, Africa’s first domestic environmental market designed to drive green investment.’
‘Our focus remains to protect lives, create opportunities, and build a Lagos that is sustainable and resilient for generations to come,’ Gov. Sanwo-Olu said.
