Studying biographies and autobiographies of people who had accomplished extraordinary things in life, be it in science, medicine, technology, religion, fashion, architecture, engineering, etc., I discovered, that, for virtually ALL of them, their journeys and achievements began from within, and mostly outside of the four walls of a typical classroom. They sought for EDUCATION without necessarily going to school. Hmmmm!
However, in Nigeria, and Africa, largely, I see a lot of us going to school but not knowing how to THINK, CREATE, or INVENT anything! And, you can see the HUGE difference between Africa and Europe/America, where EDUCATION is not school or certificate focused.
From my finding, and I stand to be corrected, formal education (schooling) does not really lead to CREATIVITY and INVENTIVENESS. O No! Those two are intrinsic (come from within), and must be sought out through PERSONAL DESIRE, DRIVE and DESIGN. For most Africans, ‘schooling’ has limited our IMAGINATION and OUTSIDE OF THE BOX THINKING ABILITY; our proper EDUCATION has repeatedly been hampered, and impaired, by ‘schooling.’ Don’t let that be your story!
A few days ago, I wrote, “According to an article in Scientific American, the memory capacity of a human brain was put around 2.5 petabytes. A ‘petabyte’ equals 1024 terabytes or a million gigabytes. Hmmm! That’s simply phenomenal. However, most human beings underutilize this awesome gift from our Creator.”
Strive to be ALL YOU CAN BE THIS YEAR! Go to school (tertiary institution) after discovering what you want/need to be EDUCATED in.
